Each month, WIKA USA recognizes employees who exemplify one of the company’s seven core values. The peer-nominated award is presented to employees who go above and beyond in their roles, all while upholding WIKA’s commitment to integrity, customer satisfaction, partnership, safety, continuous improvement, social responsibility, and excellence.
Established when WIKA was founded in 1946, core values are the standards by which WIKA measures itself and its employees. Thanks to employees’ commitment to these corporate values, WIKA has become a worldwide leader in industrial measurement technology. The company would not be where it is today without this dedication from within.
Employees who do more than expected are vital to WIKA’s overall mission of helping customers succeed through superior instrumentation solutions. This is why WIKA USA began the monthly Core Value Award program almost 20 years ago – to acknowledge employees for their hard work and dedication.
Corporate Core Values are Keys to Company Success
A peer-nominated program, Core Value Awards give employees a special way to thank their colleagues for doing extraordinary work. Recipients are recognized for making a positive impact on WIKA USA’s continued success. Each nominee is chosen for exemplifying one of seven core values:
- Integrity: Promoting ethical business practices
- Customer Satisfaction: Creating positive customer experiences
- Partnership: Encouraging collaboration in the workplace
- Safety: Maintaining a safe work environment
- Continuous Improvement: Improving WIKA policies and processes
- Social Responsibility: Improving the community and the world at large
- Excellence: Exceeding expectations in work that directly impacts company success
Each month a committee composed of senior managers chooses the winners, who receive a plaque, monetary award, and a designated parking spot at the main WIKA USA campus in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

Rodger Cochran and Aaron Koerner, Electrical Temperature Level Division | Recognized for Excellence
These two hardworking employees from the Information Technology department gave it their all – and part of their weekend – to ensure that everything was in place for a recent Dynamics AX training session for the WIKA USA Sales team for the Gayesco brand. The nominator writes, “The project required the setup of 12 workstations for training. At the last minute we had a change in the location for the workstations, and that required Aaron and Rodger to come into the office on Sunday in order to meet the deadline. On Monday morning, all workstations were in place and ready for the 8 a.m. training session. They continued to provide support for the training team during the week, often at a moment’s notice. Rodger and Aaron went above and beyond to help the training be successful. On behalf of the project team, we greatly appreciate their efforts.”
David Peek, Pressure Gauge Division | Recognized for Continuous Improvement
David is not satisfied with the status quo. His nominator writes, “Ever since he came to the Quality department, he continues to find ways to make improvements with the processes that were already in place. Every month, he starts to locate the dual gauges and manages to have the report clean before the month is out. He has located gauges that could be used and has put them back into circulation, either by calibration or as a reference. David makes recommendations on what and how he thinks improvements can be made that would help the department. He is organized, thorough and does not mind assisting team members, both inside and outside the department. He is always helpful with training team members in a way that they understand the process. He is a joy to work with each day. If he is not here, he is missed. David has made a big difference in the Meteorology department and in our lives in the QA Receiving department.”
Christopher Moore, Pressure Gauge Division | Recognized for Customer Satisfaction
Christopher did not hesitate to take the initiative and correct a mistake when something didn’t look right. His nominator writes, “Christopher was preparing a customer shipment. In reviewing the manufacturing paperwork, he noted that the customer name on the sales order did not match the customer name on the product label. He questioned why the private label product was being shipped to a different customer. When we looked into the details of the original purchase order, we found out that the item number was entered incorrectly in the system and the product was not what the customer ordered. Thank you, Christopher, for questioning this order. Your focus on quality prevented a customer from being disappointed.”
Peter Braun, Pressure Gauge Division | Recognized for Partnership
Peter’s nominator praises him for leading by example in the Maintenance department. “Peter went out of his way in December to assist with a problem we were having with the 1770 T15 CTS temperature transmitter. It was late in the day and, due to the holidays, with limited personnel. During a changeover, equipment parts were found to be out of spec. He took the parts to the machine shop, evaluated them, and personally machined them all so we were able to change over the CTS and complete a customer order. With an open mind, positive attitude, and helping hand from every employee, WIKA will have continued success.”
